California guv Gavin Newsom released a nightly curfew for the majority of counties in his state as coronavirus outbreaks continued to surge.
The state on Monday moved almost all counties to the “purple tier” designation, banning indoor dining and indoor spiritual services, while restricting retail-store capacity to 25 percent. Newsom signed an executive order on Thursday purchasing those very same counties, encompassing 95 percent of the state’s population, to carry out a nighttime curfew.

” In light of an extraordinary, rapid increase in COVID-19 cases across California,” the guv revealed a “limited staty-at-home order” from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m
” Activities performed during 10 p.m. to 5 a.m are frequently excessive and more likely associated to social activities and events that have a greater probability of leading to decreased inhibition and reduced probability for adherence to precaution” like mask-wearing and social distancing, the declaration stated.
California has a seven-day coronavirus positivity rate of 9,974, according to the New York Times, nearly reaching the level of an increase in cases over the summer season. Coronavirus outbreaks are surging across the nation, with numerous restrictions enforced from New Jersey to Michigan to North Dakota.
Newsom was criticized previously today after news broke that he had participated in a supper celebration that obviously violated coronavirus-mitigation protocols. Photos of the dinner revealed Newsom sitting mask-less with other diners, consisting of the CEO and top lobbyist of the California Medical Association, a trade group representing doctor in the state.
