Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite charged with abetting Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual assault of minor girls, is in quarantine in a New york city City federal jail after possible exposure to a worker there who evaluated positive for the coronavirus, prosecutors said Monday.
Maxwell tested negative for Covid-19 using a rapid test last Wednesday, district attorneys wrote in their filing in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, where she was indicted this year.
” As with any other quarantined prisoner, the accused will stay in quarantine for fourteen days, at which point she will be evaluated again for COVID-19,” prosecutors wrote in their letter to the judge in Maxwell’s case.
” If that test is negative, she will then be launched from quarantine.”
District attorneys said that a team member appointed to work in the location of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where Maxwell is housed, checked positive for the coronavirus recently.
Maxwell, 58, is being held without bail on charges connected to her alleged recruitment and grooming of girls for sexual abuse by Epstein, often with her participation, at numerous areas in the mid-1990 s.
Among the declared victims was just 14 years old at the time she was recruited.
Maxwell, who has pleaded not guilty in the event, likewise is charged with perjury for supposedly wrongly denying, while under oath for depositions in a civil suit, her supposed conduct as a procurer for the wealthy cash manager.

” During quarantine, the defendant has been and will continue to be permitted to use that laptop computer in her seclusion cell to review her discovery for thirteen hours each day.”
