Job Duties:

20Will use basic medical knowledge to review EMR prior to their patient (student) visit. Will ensure completeness of patient record by verifying immunization requirements, insurance status and enrollment status. Will process medical record requests, update patient charts for immunizations, etc., and ensure patient compliance with pre-matriculation requirements. Will scan received medical and immunization records into the EMR. Will verify patient insurance status, and file insurance claims in coordination with the office insurance program coordinator. Will assist with processing incoming students record to ensure compliance with pre-matriculation requirements.Essential

35Will provide basic medical assistance support to medical staff by performing medical procedures such as taking vital signs and initial medical histories, drawing blood, removing sutures, changing dressings, administering and reading TB tests, taking electrocardiograms, and performing basic laboratory tests. Will assist medical staff during exams.Essential

35Will provide front office support assisting with administrative support tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, printing labels, organizing daily appointment sheets, taking payments, maintaining forms supplies, and sending appointment reminders.Essential

5Will perform other related duties as requested. Will act as a team player and work to provide a congenial and warm atmosphere for patients, providing information regarding wait times, needed testing, unanticipated delays, etc. Will provide information regarding follow-up appointments and additional tests or procedures that will be ordered.Essential

5Will provide additional support to medical staff by ensuring that exam rooms are clean and properly stocked. Will clean exam rooms between visits. Will properly dispose of testing materials and ensure that materials are fully stocked and readily available for medical staff.Essential

Job summary: Will act as Medical Assistant in Student Health Services as well as will provide administrative support to Student Health Services medical staff.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 4: $27,527.00 – $39,228.00 – $50,930.00 (min – mid – max)

FLSA: Hourly

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A high school diploma and one year experience or additional training and certification within the specific work area. Some positions require licensure by the South Carolina Board of Dentistry. Some positions require certification in BCLS, ACLS and BTLS.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred: High School Diploma is required. Licensed Practical Nurse or a Medical Assistant (MA) certification is being sought and two years of experience in a clinic setting is desired. Experience working in a medical office or clinic setting is desired.
